I had 4 treatments; the first two were every 21 days. My third one was delayed by one week due to blood counts and my last was also at 4 weeks. I had SRS first then continued on to chemo 2 weeks later. My first scan was after the second infusion. Everything was shrinking then. Finished on 12/30/10. I am presently NED. I had IV aloxi for nausea and only took the at-home meds twice for slight nausea at the end. As per my answer to question 2: What were the worst side effects you experienced with carboplatin (Paraplatin) and Alimta (pemetrexed) for NSCLC? How did you manage the side effects? The fatigue was the worst part for me. It's very hard to fight and I didn’t. It is key to stay very hydrated during treatments and I think this is what helped me. Had my 2nd CT scan in March and I'm NED.

I have had three doses of Carbo and I am scheduled to have one more next week. I am doing 4 cycles of chemo. Each cycle consists of 4 weeks (three weeks of chemo and one break week). Each cycle begins with carbo and abraxane. I usually experience feet and lower leg pain with my carbo treatment. I have never had nausea.
