BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes are two genes but are related in the same pathway. In practical terms, the risk of ovarian cancer is less for women with a BRCA2 mutation (about 20%) than for women with a BRCA1 mutation (about 40%). The risks for breast cancer are about the same (70% lifetime).
