What advice would you give to other breast cancer survivors about taking the leap and starting a company?

Starting a company is a 24 hour 7 day a week job. It can be draining as you pour your blood, sweat and tears into it. I have witnessed others do this and my personality is to do this myself. Many people will tell you it is absolutely necessary if you want to be successful.

As a breast cancer patient, I am faced with the reality that this venture, and my ability to help other breast cancer patients, will all be for not if I am not healthy. I force myself to do other things that I feel are important for me to stay healthy. I schedule time in my week to exercise and practice yoga, and I block time for my family. I remind myself that what is most important are the two little boys sleeping down the hall from me and the big one laying right beside me

So, my advice for breast cancer patients who choose to start their own business is to NOT let it take over your life completely, as hard as that is, and to be forgiving of yourself on the days it does.
