Personal Bio (My story)
I lost my mother to breast cancer in 2008 and was diagnosed two years later myself. I underwent genetic testing and learned I carried the BRCA2 gene mutation. Subsequently I had a bilateral mastectomy, reconstruction and chemotherapy. I began blogging about a year ago in order to be a resource to others. I write about grief and loss, BRCA and just about everything and anything related to breast cancer. I also often write commentary on the cancer culture that exists in today's society.
