One of my former student's mom contacted me when she heard thru a mutual friend of her daughter and my daughter. A co-worker approached me after my hair was gone. Another friend mentioned that her daughter-in-law was a survivor. We had met several years ago. And I had a cousin that also had breast cancer. All of these women let me know that if I wanted to talk I could contact them, but were not pushy at all. All of them, except my cousin, were in their 30's or 40's when diagnosed, so we had more in common.
I also went to one local cancer society support group for younger women.
