After having cancer, I have a complete new outlook on life and am trying to re-calibrate my life goals. Is this normal? Do you have any recommendations to help?

Yes, this is normal! New perspective, shifts in priorities and reassessing personal goals are common experiences as people finish treatment and begin to re-enter their life after cancer. Be patient with this process and trust that even in the moments when you feel stagnant, lost or unsure there is a great amount of work going on within you! Questioning, processing thoughts and feelings and working to understand exactly what has changed takes time. Do a role model search! Identify people you know (colleagues, friends or family) or don't know but admire from afar. What qualities are you drawn to in these others? What have they done in their life that inspires you? Gather this information because these are likely the personal qualities and traits you aspire to yourself. Becoming the person you most want to be is the first step to accomplishing the goals you want to achieve.
